Games Ground Berlin

In November 2024, we made our second appearance at a Games Ground Berlin.

This time their crew doubled down on XR and created a whole area called "the XR dungeon”

A perfect context with strong cyberpunk aesthetics.

This vibrant community of indie game developers welcomed us with open arms and upgraded the playground area to explore a large menu of cyberdelic experiences.

Squingle on Meta Quest

Squingle is a cosmic 3D puzzle game that could only exist in VR. Your challenge is to guide 2 spinning orbs to the goal through intricate, glass-like mazes called ‘squingles.’ Each level offers a mesmerizing visual experience, featuring dynamic, morphing sculptures that come to life in fully immersive environments or in Mixed Reality. With intuitive controls and hand-tracking support, Squingle will captivate your mind and spirit.

Star-Stuff on Meta Quest

Invite your friends to meet you in space! As Carl Sagan famously said, “We are all made of star-stuff.” This VR experience was created to remind us of our fundamental connection to humanity and the universe. Floating in space, your hands become constellations while stars emanate from and orbit your body, forming a galaxy unique to you. A stranger appears as another set of constellations. The gravitational effects of your bodies alter the stars' orbits forming a collaborative sculpture in space.

Edo Fouilloux dynamic talk, “Can Building Games and Worlds Feel Like Jamming in a Garage Band?” showcased how collaborative creation and sandbox gaming are reshaping the landscape of interactive fun. He gave a live multiplayer demo showcasing the power of Patch World. If you haven't tried Patch World yet we highly recommend you try it, it's next level.

Overall, we were super impressed and happy to see how this Berlin based grass roots indie dev movement is growing by the year and we feel extremely grateful to be part of it.
